Abbott Insurance opened their first office in Cowdenbeath in 1975, wholly owned by Arthur W Abbott and Catherine B Abbott. The early company principle of providing independent and impartial advice to clients has stood the test of time, and remains as important to this day. After short spells in Lochgelly and Kirkcaldy, business was consolidated at their new premises in Cowdenbeath, where they have remained since 1991. The High Street presence enables Abbott Insurance to provide expert and personal service to their clients, offering a large range of insurance products selected from the top insurance companies in the U.K. Following the semi-retirement of the founding partners in 2001, Abbott Insurance passed to David W Abbott and Wendy JS Abbott. At this time, the Company was re incorporated as Abbott Associates Limited, trading as Abbott Insurance. The main activity of Abbott Insurance is general insurance direct to businesses and individuals throughout the UK. Since 2001, Abbott Insurance has been developing special schemes and wholesale supply to a panel of authorised Sub-Brokers. Abbott Insurance continue to deliver a competitive and quality alternative to direct and internet insurance service, whilst embracing these emerging technologies.
